About

Based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Randy Leslie is an accomplished theatre director, designer, and producer with extensive experience leading productions of all scales. He serves as the Artistic Managing Director of Kelowna Actors Studio, where he has been a driving force behind its growth and artistic success.

With over 150 directorial and production credits spanning Toronto, Ottawa, and Kelowna, Randy brings a well-rounded expertise that includes programming, marketing, and leadership within the arts community. He has held positions on several cultural boards and is highly skilled in building and leading creative teams—hiring, training, and mentoring both performers and production professionals. His artistic strengths span musical theatre, choreography, and design, including lighting, costume, and wigs.

A passionate educator, Randy is deeply committed to developing the next generation of artists. He leads Kelowna Actors Studio's educational programming, working with performers of all ages and levels. His students have gone on to train at some of North America's most respected institutions, including NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program, Sheridan College, The Randolph Academy, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York and Los Angeles), Guildford School of Acting, and Carnegie Mellon University. Alumni have also performed with leading companies such as the Stratford Festival, Shaw Festival, and Mirvish Productions.

Under Randy's leadership, Kelowna Actors Studio welcomes over 35,000 audience members annually, producing six MainStage productions alongside student showcases and special events. Over the past 24 years, the company has produced more than 150 major productions, expanded to serve over 250 students per semester, and earned multiple civic and regional awards in recognition of its contributions to the arts community.

"After doing this for decades, I know this to be true — the stories we tell matter. They stay with people. They open hearts, challenge thinking, and at their best, they bring us back to our shared humanity. That’s why we do this."
